Budget Markers are available for the following progress bars:

  • Time
  • Story Points
  • Custom fields

Guide on how to create a Budget Marker for Story Points

The first step to create a Budget Marker is to create a new custom number field.

Warning

Please ensure that you use the "Time" custom field instead of the "Number Field" custom field, to create a Budget Marker for the Time progress bar.

After creating and naming the new custom field, assign it to the project screens you want it to be displayed on.

Next, you navigate to the Global Settings for Epic Sum Up and add the new custom field you created as a budget to your Story Points.

The last step is to navigate to the issue, that you want to see the budget on. There you can click on the Story Points progress bar and define a value for the Budget field.

After closing the Detail View for the Story Points you can see the Budget Marker on the progress bar.

This process is the same for the Budget of a Custom field progress bar and the Time progress bar.

Create a Budget Marker for time fields

Add a time custom field

  1. Install Epic Sum Up
  2. Navigate to the "Custom fields" section in the "Issues" settings
  3. Add a new "(Epic Sum Up) Time" custom field
  4. Assign the new field to the necessary screens

  1. Navigate to the "Manage apps" section in the Administration
  2. Click on "Configuration" in the navigation on the left
  3. Choose the "Summary Panel" option within the settings page
  4. Look for either "Time" or any custom time field
  5. Click on the dropdown next to "Budget"
  6. Choose the time custom field, that was recently created

  1. Navigate to an issue you want to use the budget at
  2. Click on the time progress bar you have assigned the budget to
  3. Click on any value in the column of the budget
  4. Type in a new value
  5. Click on the check button to save the input
